Japanese Pancakes: A heavenly breakfast experience for the perfect Sunday

In today's blog post, we want to show you how to conjure up delicious Japanese pancakes that are perfect for a cozy Sunday morning. These fluffy and sweet treats will delight you with their unique taste and special consistency. Accompanied by a cup of coffee or tea, your breakfast will be a real moment of enjoyment. What you need for the Japanese pancakes:

200 grams Flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
45 grams Sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla sugar
125ml buttermilk
1/4 tsp Salt
2 tablespoons rapeseed oil
50 grams butter for frying
something maple syrup
1 banana
200 grams blueberries

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Prepare all the ingredients and make sure you have a kitchen scale, a glass bowl and a whisk or hand mixer to hand. To achieve the perfect shape of the pancakes, use 12 cm burger bun rings. One or two rings should be enough.

  2. Put all the ingredients listed above into the glass bowl and mix them thoroughly with the hand mixer. In the meantime, you can heat a pan and place the 12 cm dessert ring or burger ring in the pan. Put some butter in the ring.

  3. Now pour a layer of the batter into the ring. Place banana slices and blueberries on top and then fill in the remaining batter. Now you need to be patient. Let the pancake bake in the pan at a low heat (level 3-4 on an electric stove). Cover the pan with a lid so that the heat can circulate evenly. Turn the pancake over in the ring and bake it briefly on the other side.

  4. The pancake is ready! Serve it with maple syrup. For extra freshness, you can add bananas and blueberries as a topping.
